Friends of the trails

Friend groups

Michigan’s trail networks would never have existed if not for small groups of individuals willing to step up to make a difference.  Friends groups provide relentless advocacy, fundraising, and outreach during a trail’s early stages.  After the trail is acquired, the groups usually stay intact to provide maintenance assistance, fundraising for development, volunteer patrols, and other important services.

If you would like to contribute to an existing trail or proposed trail project in your area, and we hope you do, just contact one of the following groups or ask us how to start a new friend group.
