The Michigan Trails & Greenways Alliance conducted a survey on trail etiquette for all nonmotorized trail users during the summer of 2020. A total of 932 trail users participated in the survey.

The data revealed there are many common areas of trail etiquette concerns amongst all nonmotorized trail users.

The survey data was presented at the free, virtual Great Lake-to-Lake Trails Etiquette Summit on Aug. 25, 2020. This Summit was our first step in addressing these issues, and we have outlined common messaging we should begin/continue to use.
